This was the most popular guest flavour in our shop – so we developed it some more, and now our new Elderflower & Strawberries Lick tubs are available to buy around the UK.

Yogurt and elderflower are incredible combined, giving a fresh, floral, complex flavour. We then stir in strawberry sauce (made from whole pureed Strawberries) as the yogurt is poured into tubs.

For some reason plants that naturally grow next to each other often taste good together. This is true for tomatoes and basil but especially for strawberries and elderflower. This is the original taste of English summers.

This is a big deal for us, and we’re excited to hear what people think – so please email us once you’ve had a try. Oh, and thanks to our old school friend Wross for foraging the wild elderflower for us.

We have some very talented friends – all of which help us out at lick in various ways. Harry Keyworth (singer-songwriter) is a name you might recognize from BBC Radio 1, and he’s also a friend of ours from our home town.

When he told us about his Road To Matala tour, we were keen to be involved in some way, so asked him to keep us updated by posting photos on our Instagram account ‘lickyogurt’. He’ll start posting from now, with the hashtag #harrylicktour – and he’ll include a little description with each one.

When he gets back he’s going to play a gig in our shop – a date will be announced soon.

Read about the tour here, and listen to Harry’s music here.

OK then – lets see what he comes up with.

We went for a nature-walk the other day and saw an otter (true story). But, here’s how else we’re involved with the environment:

Lick frozen yogurt is made using energy sourced from the sun and from anaerobic digestion only. Using sustainable energy like this means we’re carbon neutral.

Carbon neutral means we have no carbon footprint – which basically means we don’t mess up the planet.

Don’t drop litter.

The Guardian newspaper featured Lick as their ‘Buy of the Day’, (click here) and said some pretty amazing stuff about our frozen yogurt. Like…

Lick frozen yogurt is really exceptionally good. Unlike some others, it really tastes of yogurt (rather than artificially sweetened vague creaminess) – and that, surely, is the point of frozen yogurt.

Thanks to Helen at The Guardian for writing about us! We’re going to send her a t-shirt and a tote bag.

So, we got a letter from Cool Brands… said the panel voted us in.

No big deal*.

If you want to know more about it – all it is, is… people like Rob Da Bank, Sadie Frost, Rizzle Kicks, Carl Barat and other massively respected people voted us in to be an official Cool Brand for 2013/2014. Other brands voted in are Apple, Sony Music, Instagram – those kind of brands.

You might have seen the big Cool Brands book in Waterstones. It’s, like, £50.

As I said previously, no big deal*.

We were also at the Sci-Fi Film Festival this month at Picturehouse, handing out Lick tubs to everyone who endured the film all-nighter.

Hugely inspired at an early age by the likes of Bruce Forsyth and Ant (not Dec), it was only a matter of time until we would follow suit and appear on the small-screen.

Well, at 4.30pm on Tuesday 23th April you can witness our TV debut on the CBBC show ‘Trade Your Way To The USA‘. We appear on the show as ‘experts’, as two teams of children have to buy various items and produce from Lick to then sell to hundreds of people else-where in Brighton. The show is presented by Saira Khan – star of series one of The Apprentice.

For an idea of how the show works, watch this little preview video here

Thanks to the production crew, Saira the kids for a fun weekend.

Some of you might by now be familiar with the work of Brighton-based illustrator Rosie Currun (aka Batman Spiderman). She is one of our favourite artists and friends, and often comes up with ideas of ‘things’ she can do at Lick.

Here’s her latest thing. It’s a hand-made passport-photo booth that she sat inside holding a pen. It had eye-holes. Anyone eating a Lick was eligible to have their passport photo taken (drawn) – the photo was then dispensed by the booth for the customer to keep.

Just another normal day in the shop.
